Trivia Night – January 4th

It was a slightly smaller crowd that usual, but that didn’ t diminish the quiz all that much this last Sunday. I find that my hecklers are getting more entertaining now, whereas before they were usually just drunken whiners (actually, I’m not sure if that distinguishes anyone at all).  Our good friend Ed, who hosted opposite of my quiz nights for awhile and played with the Liancourt Rocks team, was able to go out on a high note with a solid victory.

Trivia Night – December 21st

A couple of drunken losers floating around aside, it was a challenging quiz right before Christmas for the trivia night faithful. Liancourt Rocks, which had been seeing consistent second-place finishes as of late, destroyed a flag round and baseball round to walk away with the top prize. The scores:

Main Reasons Why I Haven’t Been Writing (In No Particular Order)

 - I’ve been preoccupied (and lazy)

 - I’m preparing to head back to the states for a few weeks rather soon, and am busy as school

 - I’m still doing my quiz, so it’s not all work

 - I’ve been drinking and smoking melon tabacco (once, worthless)

 - My girlfriend has had more free time as of late, so I’m enjoying time with her

 - Not having a computer on a regular basis put a damper on your blog life

 - I have more excuses, but will save them.  The blog will see a few updates soon, I promise!

 

BAH! Damn It All! – A Belated Trivia Night Posting – June 8th

Sorry for little updating recently folks!  As it so happens, BOTH my camera and my computer are not working properly.  In regards to my PC, the motherboard is fried and I need to replace it.  Which is quite aggravating, sense I use my computer a lot and many personal items (including pictures I wanted to post here) cannot be accessed now.  Hopefully I’ll have it all fixed soon.  For now, a very overdue list of the teams that contended in my last quiz.  The champs, who hadn’t won my quiz for a while until then, slaughtered my astronomy round.

“I Hate You!” – Trivia Night – May 25th

This was the common complaint from the 2nd place team during my “Poetry” round, which they didn’t do too terribly on but it certainly was their weakest category. The first place team, however, nearly demolished that same category and rode that along with some other quality rounds to the win. This is the second weak in a row, though, where teams had more trouble with my 4th round than my 5th! Dadgummit!

On another note, the 1000 won “Fishing Game” given out to the best-named team was a HUGE success!

“It’s Easy When You Know ‘Em” – Trivia Night – April 28th

A rushed question gathering and running a bit late led to a harder-than-usual quiz this week, but the results were not too bad.  My rebus-songs round really stumped people, something I found surprising.  And sadly I couldn’t make my random nonsense list, something I know people are dying to read all the time.  Nonetheless, the results:

I figured I would add the English for the majority who cannot read Korean (I’m still working on it myself) or those who simply don’t have the language downloaded. So, in other words, nearly everyone. Welcome to my blog! This blog serves as both a continuation of my former blog account (http://orshouldi.wordpress.com/) and a new blog concerning my new environs. Most of what will appear here will be about my life in Korea, particularly Seoul, with pictures and essays to come.
